Sheath Makin Hatin Club

@Justin Presson Your Sheaths are phenomenal!

I'm new to leather sheath making (only have made 3 pouch sheaths so far). What does your "drill press - finishing nail - punching set-up" look like in action!? How do you ensure a straight punch?
This is a short video I did a while back on doing the drill press stitching holes. My carbide stem is unnecessary as a small dia finishing nail is equally effective

Thank you sir! Very helpful! Do you go along the back (belt loop side) of the sheath with the groover afterwards? I found that the exiting side of the bit would puff out the holes a little.

I dont groove the back of the sheath but by pulling the thread tight and giving the back side a light tapping with the leather hammer it all lays nice and flat and ready for the hot waxing

As a follow up - I found another good instruction on putting holes in your sheath with a drill press used as an arbor press.
