What's going on in your shop?

Yup, it's a taco style. I got one of the knife kits.com kydex presses and the extra firm foam for it. I tried with wood and cheap foam, but it didn't work as well. I use heavy duty Irwin f clamps and a toaster over to heat the kydex evenly.KIMG2154.JPG

Both sides are molded. I open up the mouth of the sheath using a 1/2" diameter drill bit to flare the opening to make resheathing easier.

Car wax. I put the scales on temporarily and wax that area. When I glue the scales on, the epoxy squeezes out and I leave it. Once dry, the epoxy pops right off. Huge thanks to Ed and others who suggested this technique.
Thanks, that sounds like a great idea. I'll try that on my next knife.

Wasn’t so much of a crack as the top just kind of crumbled away at some point. I was it 600 I think and went to grab another piece and all of a sudden there was a chunk missing. LOL. I would say it polished up ok though. View attachment 75924

Is that ironwood? Looks great btw, can't tell there was a crumbled section. My ocd must be kicking in, i'm dying to fill that little "eye" with some CA.
