I just went thru this/ and still very new...but..but I like the last version!

Had a customer request for her boyfriends name etched in the blade.... the stencil Is several days overdue...thanks to the post office... I have delayed finishing every thing up untill I did that step....do I go ahead and finish and just tell her we add the name in later or is is placement just...

People have lost the whole concept of craftmanship..making anything..self reliance etc...you really would be surprised how many people I come in contact with that only want meat from supermarkets cause they don't believe in any animals being harmed... the world is a scary scary place

Wanting to order a stencil from Ernie, the plan was to get some assorted sizes to cover future needs.... right up until he asked what sizes??? A little hard to predict what I will be needing in the future for sure.. but... for those that have been there... what sizes do you use most often...

Thanks Justin.. that makes perfect sense...that's why I was asking before I was continuing on... Aaron I get what you are saying about reaming the hole... I do have a question... is the bronze washer just personal preference? Or a mechanical or practical reason over nylon etc??

... in between a couple of other projects... I had a couple of scrap pieces of steel ..1095..one of them had a blade inside just dieing to be let out... so somehow I am on my way to building my first friction folder...I want a more modern design. .. (keep.in mind..I am kinda winging...

My biggest fear is accidently crossing that line between influence and copy...when you look at knives all day...and then start to draw some...without thinking about it... what you have looked at is going to come out in some form... And the last thing I want...is to steal someones design...

Ok Guys.. Is there any sort of process you go thru when your designing a blade, seem like everything has already been done.. and everything I sketch out looks like or reminds me of so and so's blade etc... trying to come up with something new and different. .is that even possible now? Or has...

And tho I am new to the knife making ..I have a bit of photography history. .in fact it wasn't that long ago that I closed my studio down... and having recently done alot of restoration and Sales of vintage kitchen knives, simply put the better the photos, the higher the price and the faster...
