    Spurs?

Just so you guys know, I've been a busy little beaver around the forge. I made up some raindrop Damascus into a 1/4" billet and I think I made just enough to make a set of spurs. I've been wanting to do this since this little spur endeavor started. I just couldn't get it out of my head how...

Yes that set you are talking about is made from a farriers rasp, I don't make knives with them. Rasp spurs are very traditional as well. Most of these are WIP type pics all have been finished now, and yes they all have strap buttons and the customer or myself supply the spur straps

So the spur making has taken a turn. I make a couple of sets, post pictures and the next thing I know I have orders for 10 pair. I may have started something. On the bright side, I get to spend a good amount of time at the forge and get paid for the work. As a good friend told me "find...

    Let's talk paypal.

This is exactly what we did. My leather work business and now my forging business is done primarily online. The vast majority of payments come through paypal. We opened a separate checking account with our bank and tied it to the paypal account. Now the one plus to paypal, that we have found, is...

    Spurs?

Oh how I know but life just isn't good without a good horse. This day and time there is still a market for spurs, however a good number of them go to wanna be cowboys and wild west reenactors.

    Spurs?

Spurs are usually a fairly simple affair. Plain strap, plain shank and small rowell. They can be very intricate and detailed. Even inlayed with silver, which these will be after assembly is done. I'll blue the rest of the steel to offset the shiny silver. Back in the old west jingle bobs were...

Couple more pics. I designed these after some really old Mexican style spurs called "crown spurs". 2" rowells and jingle bobs engaged.

Taking a break from some leatherwork to get some spurs forged. Finally got some parts in and now to design my heel bands and get it all together. Then I can make a set of leather spur straps! Yeaaaaahhhh.
