  • Hi Kris, my name is Cathy DeFelice. I just joined KnifeDogs and saw your name in a post. Steve Kanoff sent me pictures of your knife work and I checked out your website. Nice! I'd like to learn how to do file work. I also agree with your views on buying from china. Steve sent me the Ocoee River saddlehorn that I customized. Check it out in the introduction posts and art deco.
Hey Kris, my name is Kenny Harris. Just finished reading your blog on buying from china which I enjoyed very much. I'm a new knifemaker and long time collector, I've been grinding for three years. I posted a question regarding a new maker like myself putting my handmade knives on ebay to build a loose customer base while getting some sort of turn around on my labor and materials. The other makers in the forum did not agree. The way they see it is even a new knife maker should charge top dollar for his knives, while I put them up for auction due to my lack of experience to get some feedback and to really just see what people thought of my knives. In the end I agree with the pros that say I was selling myself short, but I did learn a lot by selling custom knives in that arena. Sorry to jabber, like I said, loved the blog, good stuff.
