Two new ones just off the bench

I should have realized those were period pieces, Doug. Your choice of materials confused me. Sorry about my confusion. Some hidden pins could prevent warpage of scales.

    Brass fittings

You just can't make some people happy! I have a decent supply of bronze at home. I haven't tried it on any work yet, but it offers some potential as far as resisting tarnish much longer than brass. Maybe the bronze would be good for some period pieces, huh?

Two new ones just off the bench

Aside from grind practice, I would for sure skip the washers on the scales. You don't need washers. I would lightly pein the pins, but be real careful not to split the scales. What epoxy are you using, Doug? If everything is properly roughed up and clean, I would use Brownells AcraGlas for...

Elmax Super Steel from Uddeholm - How are we going to distribute 40 bars to test?

With the high C content, it sounds pretty good. I also assume the HT is close to CPM and will have a cryo phase, too?

    O.k. grinding help needed

That's what I had to do to train both my hands, going light with grinding. I'm a lefty and it seems to take forever to use the other side for equal work. All shop equipment seems to be made for right handed people, too. Yep on the imagined lazer line, too. That's a better way to describe it...

Novice maker? I don't think so! That's some mighty fine work, Erin. This is by far one of the best threads I have had the pleasure of reading and your quality of pictures speak for themselves, too.

Yeah, I can see that happening. I saw some Playboy centerfolds I would like to have for shop elves, but I know what my wife would have to say about that.

A pal at work owns some ground that has a lot of Osage trees. He is going to cut some for me and wants a knife. We talked about a trade, wood for a knife. Is your EDC a folder, IG?

Nine year old deer hunters new knife.

Very nice knife and work! I like your selection of handle material. That 9 year old boy is very fortunate to receive your work. I have been interested in some stabilized 'dillo hide for some time but haven't found a source.

    Hello from San Antonio Texas

Hey, welcome to the gang, Eugene! Sure is nice country where you live. I was born there at Ft. Sam. That's pretty neat, being set up like you are and switching to some knife making. I bet ya do real good with knives, given your experience.
