Dang that is beautiful, I need to step up my game and try this handle type. I am guessing it is glued and tightened with corby for permanent bond?

    Sweeping plunge line? Grind line?

Some makers don't want to be found, just want a mark for those who he made a knife for. I love that grind design, just wow.

    kind of in a pinch

I tried most alcohols, beer didn't work, high octane race alcohol from gas station is expensive and stinks, vodka is ok, whiskey meh, 90 proof everclear is awesome but expensive again. My choice is rubbing alcohol (isopropyl) at 90 %, cheap and works.

What's going on in your shop?

Just finished this cleaver type object for a friend. 5160 stock removal with some fake patina via angle grinder, hammer and whatever else in shop that did damage prior to heat-treat. Stabilized maple dyed pink and G10 pins for the handle.

    2x72 grinder question

That grinder (toobinator) is easy to put together with basic welding skills, I did it with parts (wheels and platen) from another grinder maker. It is literally 50 bucks or less in new steel for frame and two arms. You need a spring for contact wheel, I bought a package of them, have extras...

    Catholic Priest gift

I am going with your idea, leather Rosary pouch but still researching. Will stamp a cross on it and would like to put his name on back of it, like it lists in Cathedral directory. " Rev. Name Name, S.V.D. " Hopefully that would be appropriate, still googling away. Would have been much easier...

    Catholic Priest gift

That is why I asked, it's very confusing and did not want to offend the Priest with wrong type of cross. I learned a lot here and from researching via google. Thanks everyone.

Shop Music Thread- what are you listening to today?

I use Pandora and just name an artist and it plays songs that are similar randomly. Lately I start with Counting Crows and Don McLean and go where Pandora takes it.

    Catholic Priest gift

I am not Catholic and have not learned their protocols. I am a Christian but do not practice, my question is, my house is literally surrounded by a Catholic church two sides and have become friends with the father. I offered to make him a knife but he stated it would not be appropriate, I...
