    Cutting Mammoth Bark Scales

I've never tried to cut mammoth (mainly because I can't begin to afford the materials), but it stresses ME just to watch YOU do it. :) I know you got 2 great sets of scales from that, but are the cut-offs from the bark not usable/desirable if they were used as an accent? Or even something...

    Second slipjoint, please critique honestly

I plan on using washers for my next slippie to see how that works out. I really like shadow pattern slip joints, so I will be doing that, plus using a 1/8" threaded pivot instead of peening a pin. Non-traditional... but i like it. For relieving liners, I used layout fluid, scribed on my...

    Second slipjoint, please critique honestly

For a second slipjoint, it looks good to me. *pat on the head* :) I like your choice of materials. Excellent job on the nice edge! Couple of things that caught my eye though... I don't generally go for a swedge on my slippie. I think you distracted from the knife with the un-even swedges...

    Micarta or G10...

Put on some of Boss's new Pearl Kirinite. :) If you can find the colors you like, I really don't think you could go wrong with either. I'm personally a sucker for black linen micarta.

    2 Little pocket Dashi's

Perfect for having a little something extra in your front pocket. Both of them actually fit in this little leather sheath (not at the same time), and I have carried each of them at different times. That means these are already "patina'd" for you. Plenty sharp for opening vacu-packs...

Man, I was just thinking about the AG show this morning. I'm pretty bummed to have missed it this year. I hope they decide to continue with the show.

First Folder after a long hiatus

Awwww, are you asking me to be your new mentor? I'm honored. :) LOL... I hope all that works out! I think that would be good motivation for both of us. As for the grind, I'm a "lefty", but I am right-hand dominant. so this works well for me. Hate sharpening?? Wha?? they are far easier...

    Double edged sword blade collaboration

Love the blade! Great work James! I can't say I love the handle so much though. I have mad-respect for all his work, but I think a wooden handle and peened pomel would do wonders for the overal presentation/package.

I made my first peice of damascus

It's a really good pattern. If you don't want to make a "knife" out of it... You could always make a really nice letter opener from it. Then the little delams are less of an issue.
