    My new Claude Scott sheath

Just checked to see some new sheaths. Great work Claude, I like em all. That's a cool round knife Bruce made. Great seeing you at the leather show Claude. I meet a guy right after talking to you that had the most fantastic kangaroo braid work I've ever seen. His string was very fine and I had...

    Number 8 (#8) Round Punch?

I've often wondered why more leather workers don't make more of special tools they need. By special I mean the ones that don't see a huge amount of use. Most of the guys on this site could make tools better than the production tools for sale out there. I made a swivel knife with minimum tools in...

    Suggestions on a Maul

The polly mauls that most outfits sell require the top of your stamp to have a sharp edge. The older stamps need to have the nice radius on the top ground off for most of the white poly mauls. This will wear your rawhide mallets and mauls pretty fast. If you liike the rawhide mallets you need to...

    My latest try at stamping

I do think all three of Pauls vidio's would be a real investment in yourself. There are a buch of good books out there but I think a vidio is way easyer to learn from. The cool thing about Paul's 2 vidio's is that they target knife sheaths, thats what we're trying to master here. I've got one...

    My latest try at stamping

Kelly, Don't worry to much if your stamping isn't perfect. I'm always striving to get mine better. Try getting the leather to it's pefect case and your stamp will be more krisp, the leather should brown slightly when stamped and the imprint will be more even. Also look for a good border stamp...

    Matchlock Axe/Pistol

Bruce, I'm gonna try to get your way sometime this week. Gonna try to get Napa Brad to come with me. He's been wanting to meet your shop dogs for awhile. I'll be sure to call before heading your way, to be sure no roadblocks are at the state line. I'll just shove the parts guy out and run for it.

    Matchlock Axe/Pistol

Bruce. You've outdid yourself on this project, it's so cool. I've checked in all along and watched it taking shape. Just getting all the pictures would exaust most of us peons. Looking forward to seeing it after the engraving is done. It needs the engraving to match the walnut and that dragon...

    dress sheaths for some Randall's

Thanks for the nice coments Kelly & Ebtide, I'm still learning and hope to get better. Lots of new stuff in the leathercraft world, I can't keep up with what the new break thru's are. Jump in with both feet, lots of room in the barrel.

    dress sheaths for some Randall's

Thanks Bruce. I hope you know, your the one who headed me down this road. I made simple sheaths for hunters and cowboys before you asked for things that made me really think on how to do certain things. Thanks for pushing me outta my comfort zone.

Thank you very much Paul. I've got lots to learn on these sheaths but I do have one of your vidio's to keep me on the right track. The other two are on my christmas list.

    dress sheaths for some Randall's

Thanks Mark. The center sheath is called scroll cutting. It's all done with a swivel knife. Oh, the bead around edge is a beading tool.

    dress sheaths for some Randall's

My cousin asked me to make some "dress" sheaths for his small collection of Randall's and I did the best I know how to do. It was great to handle these blades and get the story of when and how he got them. He said at the time it was a must that special forces carry a Randall. He ordered his...
