Well done. From the satin finish to the makers mark, all aspects look great. I’ll second the good words for Ernie.

Congratulations! I will have to build a case for my KITH knife now.

    Chef's knife - Hand Forged 52100

Great looking knife. I think the video is also very well done.

    Pocket carry

I appreciate the kind comments. These small knives are fun to make. I use a 12” wheel for the hollow so it is not too far from a flat grind on these small blades.

Thank you. The liner is “vulcanized liner” from the boss (USA knifemaker).

Thanks much. I do enjoy the challenge of stag.

It’s the same size knife as the KITH knife I made—5.5”OAL, 2.5” blade. AEBL hollow grind, Amber sambar stag. Pocket carry. Finally, on my third attempt, I ground down the slab enough to leave some bark on. Still learning. Still enjoying it! As usual, the sheath is made by my brother.

A few finished up and some firsts

Thank you. I don’t think it can be called a wa handle anymore but it’s comfortable.

A few finished up and some firsts

Thanks for the compliments. Except for makers mark, I just finished another petty knife. The handle started as 100% wa handle but then decided to contour it further.

A few finished up and some firsts

My third wa. I moved the internal pins along the spine and cutting edge rather than left and right this time. This way there is very little chance of exposing drill holes for pins while shaping the handle. I’m guessing many knife makers considered that well before actually building a handle and...

    Toothache

That’s a rough story. Waiting for relief while in pain makes each minute seem like an hour. Good you had it taken care of by some compassionate professionals. If I could have my money back from the dentist over the last three or four years I believe I could buy two high end grinders.

    Try #2

I’ve got no advice because I don’t do my own sheaths but I think your sheath looks great. The knife also looks great.

    Damascus & checkered ironwood folder

    Beautiful, all of it.

A few finished up and some firsts

Thank you. Several lessons learned but the biggie on the second attempt at a wa handle, don’t narrow the wood too close at the tang or you will expose the alignment pins. Yes, I did.
