What do you ware to protect your legs while you are forging. My apron goes down to just below my knees. I have had more then a few jeans with burn holes in them. I can tell you they are not made of cotton anymore. Blend would probably be a good word.

They used wire for a very long time. Myself,, I have never used it. If nothing else it will not leave gray spots in your billet like welding will.

How they look on the leather. If ya got some scrap that you won't use,, show us how they turned out. That would be very nice!

Does anyone have any dimensional information on the Case V-42 stiletto. There is a little on Wikipedia and some on Case. I have a copy of a Cad drawing for a FS. I was hoping for the same on the V-42. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

What do you have for a hardness tester? I always get the bad look when I bring a blade in to test. It would be nice to have one that doesn't cost a ton.

Looks nice Dan. I checked the specs on that steel. It gets hard. Is it air or oil hardened. What did you do for tempering. Can you check hardness?

I was there today. For the price of $260 you can have one just like mine. lol,,,,, I have replaced the motor, tension adjustment for the blade and on/off switch. This is over time. I will say it has done the job for me. It's the low end but it works. For what I do it fine. Would I like a good...
