So, after many, many trials and tribulations (none of which had to do with knife making!) I finally completed an actual knife looking object. As Rod Serling would say " up for your consideration...." All comments, critiques, pointers, anything you have to say will be appreciated. I got big shoulders, so don't just be nice.... The details are:
3/16ths 1084 stock, hardened in my gas forge. Tempered in our kitchen oven @ 425* x 2. Scales are birds eye maple finished with true oil and completed with carnuba (mothers brand) wax. spacers are bloodwood. Pins are my own mosaic from brass stock. Scales are held on with the pins and a liberal coat of G Flex epoxy. Overall length is 8 1/2 ", blade is 4 1/2". Thanks for looking.DSC01311.JPGDSC01312.JPGDSC01313.JPG

Thanks, DeMo. Your tutorial will be used for the making of the sheath. THAT should be an interesting journey!!!

Dude -you need to make a simple fold over sheath like this one for that knife.

Very nice, my friend! Love the color choices. Keep up the great work.

Thanks Kev . I haven't seen you around much. Keep in touch , amigo. ( For all you Cajun types -that means , well.....
Amigo!)

nice job.
try just two pins next time and make them a bit smaller. The position of the end ones are good, skip the middle one.
