Nice work, the overall design is clean and there are lots of nice details. I had a look at your site, all of your file work looks good and can only get better from there. I will look forward to seeing more of your work.

I stopped into the local Marine recruiter's office yesterday just to make contact. No numbers were discussed but I am confident that I can find recipients for at least a few of the makers who aren't able to do that part themselves. It sounded like that was a concern for some.

Thanks, Brad! I prefer this model without the ramp too, but it is on the pattern so the option is availible.

My design submission Practical Field Model, shown with and without a thumb ramp. The current pattern has a 4.25" blade, I will make a new one and pull the length back to 4" if this design is chosen. OAL will be approx. 8.75" with the adjusted blade length.

I'm going to submit my Practical Field model for consideration. I have a new design I was going to submit but I haven't had a chance to feel it out, so I'm going with one that has proven itself. The blade length is 4.25" but if this design is chosen I will make a new pattern and shorten...

Thanks again for your thoughts, guys. I am still waiting for the conclusion to this, but have a better idea of how to handle it next time, if a similar issue comes up again.

Thank you guys. I have been fishing wide for opinions on this one and it seems to have some potential. I'm going to do a couple more and find some guys who can take them into the field and give them a try.

Thanks guys! I hadn't imagined it might be useful for medical procedures but I see what you're saying, Denny...maybe it could be blunted up a little for that purpose.

Ed Caffrey's "Wreck Knives" inspired me with an idea which I'm still not sure is worthwhile, but materialized so nicely in my mind's eye that I had to make one and see what it might be useful for. It's basically a seatbelt cutter on steriods, and inch for inch it is one of the most aggressive...

I appreciate that and could certainly use the luck. Gotta keep moving forward at any rate. Situations, good or bad, are all temporary. If you don't like the one you have it's time to start making another.

Thank you for the responses, guys. At the end of a long week this problem threw me for a bit of a loop. I offered to clean the knife up, hopefully this won't end with an unhappy customer.

Funny how another rope appears just when you reach the end of the one that you've been hanging from. Glad to hear that something has turned for you and your future. I'm at the point of looking around for another rope myself. Best of luck to you.
