    Definitely go with this idea...I am in the granite business and was an installer for 18 years. Diamond core bits from HD and probably HF as well are garbage and won't get you will drill a hole for you for a small fee.

    leather/kydex hybrid

    I have often considered doing something similar Franklin. I like the look of leather but the convenience of Kydex. I just may have to try this...the main thing I dislike about using leather is making the holes for sewing but I have recently started drilling the holes and that has made it...
