Prayers are on the way my friend. On the bright side, you now know you made the knife sharp enough :P

    My first knife, handle help

Also, great advice on the epoxy. I saw even a pro struggle with the 5 minute epoxy in the video. So the 30 minute epoxy should work out great! Pictures should be up next week, and then I'll be on to working on the sheath. After that, I'll have a finished knife :D

    My first knife, handle help

Yes, thank you all for all your tips!! I'm gonna order the pins from usaknifemaker tomorrow, and hopefully they'll get here either by Saturday or next week. For now, I'm going to finish shaping the handle, and buy some finer grit sandpaper at the hardware store till my pins get here. I have a...

I figured out my plan guys. And yeah, I've been very impressed with USA knife maker. I'm probably going to go to them for all of my knife making needs. Great customer service, great products, and they have it all.

Sounds awesome Drop Point!! Yeah, I'm a huge gun guy myself. I have my Henry .22 next to me as we speak. I also own a couple of AK-47s, a Mosin Nagant, Kar98k, Marlin lever action, Saiga 12, Springfield .45, and more lol. Don't feel like going through the whole list. But guns are really fun, and...

That is REALLY cool!! What I'd give to be able to do all that. I'm Catholic, in fact my faith is the most important part of my life by far and without question. And I've honestly considered the priesthood. Still debating it of late, and I've been praying on it to see if it's my calling. But so...

    My first knife, handle help

Hey guys, so this is a continuation of my older thread of my first real knife. My parents were very generous to me, and bought me a drill press for knife making. I drilled the holes in the handle with no problem at all, so looks like it was a good thing I didn't quench the handle. I'll post a...

Really cool Rhino! How do you like doing custom knife making full time? I've debated doing that myself, but I think I would love to do that after I have more steady income for a few years and buy all the tools I need. Calicos are awesome cats. My family has 13 cats (Yes, 13. They just kept...

Really cool to hear y'alls stories. You all have awesome career paths. I think Liam Lynch and I are the only ones without our own families on here. Other than the one we were born with of course. AR: Yeah, the whole process of steel making is awesome to see. But I think manufacturing as a whole...

    Combat knife design

For the semi-tanto version that is. I think Gladiator will be cool. The biggest version. I also think Native American tribe names would be awesome too. A lot of U.S. military equipment is named after Native American tribes, such as the Apache, and the tomahawk cruise missile after the Native...

    Combat knife design

Yep, just bare in mind, no two men or women in the military think alike when it comes to blade needs. It always depends on their job in the military, and different people prefer different things just like any civilian. So while one guy in the Marines might find a 7 inch blade too big, another...

Ha, funny how that works out. My dad has a degree in business, but currently does IT work. I guess what they look for is the degree anyways. But dang, that's a cool area of study for your degree. I should recommend that to my brother, because he's currently looking at going into computer...

Officialy starting a one-brand collection... Any thoughts?

Spyderco makes some great blades. You could try getting all their VG10 models. That's a great steel, and will last a lifetime. Those are my thoughts.

Knives 2 and 3, be brutally honest

Woah!!! You learned from Bob Loveless!!??? Wow, that is really amazing. What I'd give to be able to say that. @ Joe, love your blades. They both seem very practical and useful designs. I bet your young nephew is going to love his new knife!

Are there any other teenagers here?

Totally feel ya there man. Once you start college, it gets harder, because then there's gas, food, books, tuition, and all the mess with that. It gets hard. But they say it all pays off when you're done with college, so that's what I'm hoping for haha.

Well, was curious about learning some of the backgrounds of my fellow forum members. What your background is like, what career you went to (or is knife making your career?) and what y'alls main interests are outside of knives?

    Combat knife design

I know I'm REALLY late to this thread, but figured I'd give my input. My dad was in the Marines, as was two of my uncles, my best friend is currently in, and another friend of mine is also in the Marines. I also had two uncles in the Army, 5 friends who are currently in the army, a step...

    My knife collection

Figured I'd show y'all my entire blade collection. Well, almost entire. Me and my brother kinda share our collections, what's mine is his, and what's his is mine. So not including my brother's; this is my entire collection. I'll admit, it's a bit lacking in custom knives, mostly due to money...
