    Sander/grinder combo for beginners

I own the craftsman I recommended. It was my first "grinder". I also have two No weld grinders I built. I still use my craftsman on every single knife I make either sanding flats on a hollow grind, getting scales flat, getting bolsters flat, rounding pin stock and I use it to slack belt sharpen...

    CPM 154 or ATS -34 ?

Thanks for the replies guys. The cost of most of the steels is really not bad but the shipping sucks. If I could go down to the store and buy the steel it would be an easy choice. Since im buying online I am getting a break on the shipping by buying in quantity. Its 52.50 extra for a stick...

    Sander/grinder combo for beginners

I like this one better. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00921513000P?mv=rr The flat disc sander option would be more beneficial then the grinding wheel.

    CPM 154 or ATS -34 ?

Hey guys, I have been reading the best steel thread and I see CPM 154 being chose alot in the stainless category. Its double the cost of ATS -34. Is it really twice as good and what quality is the extra money going for? And where can I buy some M4? :) Thanks.

    So.......How do I do this

Copy that Ernie. I didnt know Peters heat treat would do differential heat treating. Cool. Good luck with it.

    So.......How do I do this

Did Peter put mud or clay on the blade to create the Hammon? I think the etching just brings out the hammon that was created during the heat treat. Or are you just trying to etch a hammon onto the blade? Im just confused when you say they did the heat treat.
