    Kentucky Knifemakers

That's what should be discussed more - the NAME "Kentucky Knifemaker's Guild" does NOT mean that the members can ONLY be from Kentucky! It's just that the HOME of the guild is in Kentucky. I think it would be quite detrimental from the get-go to limit membership - you need all the forward...

    Kentucky Knifemakers

Mike, I thought I might toss another name out to you - Jerry Rados. Many know him - some don't. Some would argue that he makes the single most sought after Damascus made. Period. He's been my neighbor, friend and tutor since '98. Anyway, he has just this winter moved to KENTUCKY!! He's right...

    Stag/Damascus Bowie-lookin' 'thing'

Here's a little thing I've kept myself busy with. 378 layers of 1084/15N20. Damascus fittings made from some W2 and 203E. Sambar Stag handle with mild steel Take-down finial. Finial and fittings were hot blued for contrast. Fun stuff.

    Favorite sand paper?

I don't think it makes one bit of difference. I think it matters most HOW you use the one in your hand. I think the biggest mistake most people make is to try to get more work out of a piece of paper than it will provide. After just a few strokes - toss it. You're better off with a new...

    3M feathering adhesive

Nick, I've been using the spray for years on my sanding bars. Sadly - (Karl weeps outloud) - 3M discontinued the Spray Disc Adhesive over a year ago. I still have four cans, but when they're gone, I'll be using the Feathering disc adhesive. Here's my heads-up on that - if you like it, BUY A...

Andersen Forge - Brut de Forge

How can a knife maker spend the weekend around Joe Keeslar and then NOT go home and make some of these?? It's impossible. For those on this forum not familiar with the process - and I'm certain that is VERY few! - the term "Brut de forge" may be translated as rough and unfinished or gross...
