    Opposites Attract

Here are two Lanny's Clips that I just finished. They are Christmas gifts for two brothers from their father. I made a Stag Lanny for the dad back in August and when he received it he liked it so much that he called and asked me to rush these through before Christmas. I made no promises but...

    3 3/4" Stag Clip

Thanks John, but compared to most I can't compete. It amazes me to think of the very generous knifemakers on the forums that have given me help and encouragement. I just try to make the one I'm working on today better than the last. Joe, I buy almost all of my stag at the blade show in...

    stag handle

White will work, Green or Pink is better. The lemon oil cleans & protects....also brings out the luster.;) The stag will pick up the compound so I scrub the oil in with a soft tooth brush and wipe with a cloth.

Finish the areas that are sanded to 800 grit and then buff. Wipe with Formby's lemon oil and your done!

4" Backpocket in Dyed Amber Bone

Here's one going in the mail box tomorrow. I know your probably tired of this Backpocket pattern from me... but it seems that's what the new owner wanted. Although I have to admit, it is my favorite knife to make! The blade is hollow ground CMP 154cm, that is .115 thick. It is halved in...

    Can H/T foil be reused?

I'll reuse it sometimes when tempering springs, but never after hardening.

    B. D. Cramer Stag Lanny'S Clip

Thanks for the comments guys! That was some stag that I picked up at the Blade this year. As for the pins.....I just use a set of domed pin spinners and then polish them up a bit. Here's a link. http://www.texasknife.com/vcom/product_info.php?cPath=884_531_874&products_id=2282 But...

    Shadows

Tony thinks that incorporating the washer makes a stronger knife! The thought is that the weakest place on a slip joint is at the seam between the bolsters and scales. In this method the scale extends all the way to the end of the knife and is sandwiched between the two washers....no seam...
