Thanks again for the great tips Robin! I'll do some experimenting with this new-to-me leather with moisture, and also see about buying or making one of those slickers. It seems like a good idea and your results that you get using one certainly look fantastic!

I piened the bolsters on without any adhesive, so unfortunately that method wouldn't work for me (and I'm not sure I would have the patience anyway:-) ). The way I've done it since is using qtips WELL soaked with solvent, and constantly tried to present a fresh, compound-free surface as I wiped...

thanks liontribe! Ironwolf, thanks for your feedback as well! Is it the first pic at the front of the bolster where you are looking? If so, I believe that is some buffing compound that got missed when I was cleaning it off after buffing the bolsters. That stuff is a real pain to get out of...

Thanks Jeff, I appreciate the feedback! It has certainly been an interesting journey with that name (spelling it, spelling it again, and again, and again...pronouncing it, pronouncing it again, and again, and again...!) :)

That is indeed very nice looking wood Kelly, and one I've never heard of before. Do you happen to know where it comes from or much about it? Is it stabilized, or is that not needed?

Doug and James, thanks for your feedback! James, I bought some from Mr. Hanson but I also got some from Burton, and I'm pretty sure this piece came from Burton. I really like this wood as well, but I'm thinking about stabilizing the rest of it because finishing it with tru-oil took me 4-5...
