    Thanks! they are! I designed this one to go on the middle finger instead of the pointer...keeps the size down nicely. I'm told they're turning out to be excellent "utility blades". *wink*

    First Hatchet I made

    Thanks! My friend Todd came to visit over last 4th of july. He liked it enough that he asked me to help him make one. He lives in WA state and loves camping. So, we made him one. The handle is Black Oak Burl, stabilized. I like how it turned out. :-)

    Thanks! It ended up as a thank-you gift to one of my students for helping me build my new forge hood. He uses the hell out of it up at his cabin. So far so good. :-) nothing like torture testing to improve workmanship, eh? lol

    Damascus TUF

    A good friend of mine, Terry, works for Boker Blades. He and I collaborated on a design for them called TUF (Terry's Urban Fighter) When it came out in the catalog, I made this one as sort of a commorative blade. :-) The blade is random pattern damascus (320 layer). The handle is feathered...

    Some of the Neckers I've made...

    Here are a couple of the smaller blades I've made...the sheaths are oak tanned leather and have rare earth magnets imbedded in them for blade retention. All of these were made from recycling commercial mower blades... I love giving them a second life when I can! :)

    First Hatchet I made

    This is the first hatchet I've done. It's full tang and made from O1. the handles are stabilized Purple Heart and fastened with Loveless Bolts and stainless steel pins. The sheath is Oaktanned Leather. Pictures by Michael Baribeau (www.keenedgephotos.com)
