something a bit different

I did a knife forging demo for the local branch of the Alabama Forge Council back in August. I forged out a seax blade, and this blade to show different techniques and designs... one in an ancient style, one more modern as I suspect that is what most folks were interested in. Since I forged it, I decided I might as well finish it. It has the first ricasso I've forged and ground in well over 3 years, and though my methods were a bit rusty I think it turned out ok.

The blade is 5 1/4" of 1080, the handle is African blackwood, the guard is nickel and copper.
10 1/4" overall.
