Thanks everyone. I have been putting more time into my sheaths lately. Sheathmaking used to be tedious for me, but lately, I have rather enjoyed it. Bruce, I am proud of it, and compliments from you mean a lot considering the museum quality work you consistently put out.

I thought grinding one recurve was tough. I count six recurve sections in that large kriss knife, and you seem to have nailed it.

Here is one I just finished up for a customer. Somehow this knife got the name Neo-Kukhri. I just call it a Neo now. It is 1095 forged, with linen micarta bolsters along with stabilized maple burl handle material. I think he will like it.. I hope so.

if it is a simple steel (1095, 1084, W1 W2, etc...) I can heat treat it and give it a clay coat for a hamon.

Got my knife dogs cards today. I really like them, with the big dog staring at the little dog. They will be on my table at the Ohio Classic this October. Thanks, Tracy

45, just keep at it. My first knives made prison shanks look fancy, but once the knifemaking thing got in my blood, I could hardly think about anything else. I still have a bunch of new things I want to try, but I am still trying to perfect the old things.

That curved grind line is a new acquisition for me. I decided this year to learn how to do it. I am still learning (story of my life!) and think I have the basic technique down. I hang the belt about 1/4 inch over the platen when doing the plunge cut, and do it with a sweeping motion...

How the heck do you guys keep your shops so pristine? Mine looks like a dirty bomb was detonated in the middle of it. Yours could double for a hospital. Nice knife, by the way.

Here is one for a customer. It is forged 1095 with stabilized maple burl. I think it came out well. I hope he likes it. It cuts like a lightsaber.

Most of my knife names that I use have been given by someone else. They just start calling one of my knives something, and it sticks.

I have never been a big one for naming knives. I have named a few of them, but it is hard. I try to avoid names like "the blood-letter", and "skull slicer", but how many names can you come up with for a basic hunter? I normally just describe the knife when listing it for sale, but I have...

Thanks everyone. I have been focusing more on sheathwork lately. What used to be a chore for me (making sheaths), has become kind of enjoyable. I kind of like this new forum.
