thanx rob ,wasnt no peakin goin on.checked and made sure i had rite temp foil also.did work 2 blades at a time tho. 2 blades of 440 then the d2 and finished with the aebl. ive used the paper before but forgot,duh. will give the talc a try next time also.

whats yals fix for foil stickin to the blades/HT 5 blades today and only 1 came out where the foil just peeled of most i had to grind off,glad i left a little extra meat, oh they were AEB-L,d2 and440c

mine is done cept maybe a little cleanup and get the sheath made. 1084 . 7 1/4 OAL. 3 in .600 grit machine finish slight taper on the tang.blue kirinite from the Boss.3/16 corbys and stainless tube now with luck holding out I wont have another booboo like last year:biggrin:

heat to 1550 or abouts,with the dial controler,10 min soak ,ramp to 1900,there abouts, for 15min,plate.i worked up 1 of the blanks into a 3 1/2 B&T to almost zero edge and it seems to be a good edge .still puttin it thru thru some paces. im holdin off the AEBL til i get PID controlled.my D2...

anyone have the knifedog kiln and did a PID mod to it . not havin real good luck on my alloy steel .doin great with my carbon , D2 but i recently worked 3 blades of AEBL .just little EDcs but i snapped 1 rushing to much on my straiting it after the first temper and noticed LARGE grain growth...
