    Folding Knife Blade to Fixed...

By trying to make a folding knife into a fixed blade you lose the specific purpose (ease of carry) of a folder and lose the specific purpose (strength) of a fixed blade, as you already know. Personally, I wouldn't make them into fixed blades unless they were to be whittlers or something along...

What's going on in your shop?

I'm excited for this one! Might be a while before I can get to it. Still design work to be done, but I think this is roughly what I want.

    How Many Knives at Once...

It is a lot faster to work with batches and in some respects you can dial in what exactly you want out of the knife. When I get a custom order I tend to make multiple of the same pattern in case I mess something up or the customer ends up wanting another one. On the other hand, I have a lot...

What's going on in your shop?

I've been doing this for D2/non-corrosion resistant knives with regular electrolyte for a bit now, I didn't know other people were too! My thought was that it would speed up the patina process, pretty much like a mustard or ferro etch.

Thank you, the drawknife was made out of an old nicholson file. The person I received it from had annealled it. I quenched my first try in water and it cracked. I treated this one like 1080, quenched in canola oil and it got hard enough for my purposes.

    A couple recent hunters

Here are my two most recent knives out of the shop! The first is a long Classic Hunter in "live etched," hollow ground D2, brass guard, bronze pins, and a handle of Ironwood. It is 10 and 3/4in long with a blade of 6in - $275 with free shipping in the lower 48 and warranty. The drop point was...

    Bolsters

If you are wanting the extra corrosion resistance, I would just use 303/4ss. Seems easier to me.

    Waterjet Blanks

Welcome, I'd think that is to be expected. As vlegski said, you may need to drill/ream pin holes. Out of curiosity, who did it for you?

Stress relief for 15N20 - will it help with warping issues?

Very easy to make one, just drill a hole in a hammer and insert a bit of carbide, whether that be a broken end mill or piece from ebay. I made one for free, works well. My two cents. Here is the other thread: https://knifedogs.com/threads/blades-warping.53432/page-2#post-437251

    Is poplar popular?

Here is an old thread I found that might be helpful: https://knifedogs.com/threads/poplar-as-a-wood-handle.35866/. People hold differing opinions on how much stabilizing is to be trusted/relied upon (some use stabilized spalted wood, for instance, others do not).

    Leather Question - Color Transfer

Once the stain dries, could you put a top coat over it (eco flo or something)? Or rub it down with a cloth until it stops staining?

The Most Dangerous Thing in MY Shop...

Do you guys wear gloves when folding foil? Haven't ever cut myself too badly, so I don't. The thing I'm most worried about is dust in the lungs, not a specific tool. Don't own a buffer yet.
