    Playing with my laser.

Like most of you who use one, I've lasered a bunch of different things on blades. This is the latest. AEB-L with spalted maple. If you're right-handed you can cut veggies, if left-handed you can cut fruit. Lol

    Canister Bird and Trout

My first canister has bearings and 1095 rod. Things I learned, use small bearings not large, fine powder is not fine enough (looks grainy) and leave the billet thick enough to grind off the powdered steel on the outside to get a more even pattern. But this little knife looks pretty ok with stag.

    Graduation Dagger

While two of my grandchildren asked for flippers, the youngest wanted a dagger. This one is my 1095 and 15n20 damascus with stabilized Buckeye burl. I think everyone needs to post more!

    Damascus twister

This is a twisting machine made by a friend. It's pretty simple and uses a hole hawg for power.

    Last knives before Christmas

Merry Christmas to all. This pair (I finished several days ago) are the last going out before Christmas. And another that is waiting for someone to love it more than me.

    Low and Knotty

Yes it’s low layer (15). Yes I wish I’d had more of the original billet to fold, but I used that in another project. I also wish I knew what the wood is.

    Steve Hughes, Shelton Pacific

Some of you may know or have bought handle blocks from Steve before he passed. He and I had tables at a number of shows together. His wife asked me to sell the remaining inventory. I will start listing blocks after the OKCA show. If you are attending the show, you can find me at tables R-06...

    Cake knife for our anniversary.

I decided to make a cake knife. Not really but this bowie will be used for that. 126 layers of 15n20 and 1084 with an unbelievable piece of koa from Shelton Pacific. 8.5” edge, 13” oa .

    A great set of pants.

I made this knife for the OKCA show which may never happen again. On a recent trip through Cali I dropped it of at Dave Ferry's shop for a sheath. It started as an attempt at raindrop but I wasn't happy with the grind.

    Fun project

Because I've been kicked around by the blades last week (bendy san mai & Damascus delam) I decided I needed to do something different. I needed a dedicated pin peening hammer. I have had the head for 20 + years but needed a handle. Polished ball and a Koa handle. 3.22 oz.

    My current problem

Has anyone used this san mai? The outer layers are mild steel I think. I followed the heat treat temps and the edge seems hard but I can bend the blade by hand. I did grind post heat treat. Maybe that's the issue.

    My Shop

It's hard to take a picture and not show all of the mess behind the cars. But my heat treat and tempering ovens on carts are hiding there along with several anvils. The wood on the top shelf is not stabilized. Stabilized is in the large bin. The other bins are new belt storage. I spend a...
