New Bandsaw Blade for Thin Metal

I tend to back the cut with wood to give the teeth some extra support when cutting thin steel. Not a sure-fire fix but I think it helps.

    New Shop WIP!

I too am trying to get a permit to add on to my smithy. To my way of thinking, windows are great for light. But I REALLY pay special attention to them as a last-ditch emergency exit. Can never be too careful, given the nature of what we do. Don't want to be trapped cut off from a door...

Need an idea for a forged spear pole material

Try ash. Use it for making baseball bats. Vikings loved it for spears. :-)

    90 to 1 gear reduction

I'm guessing you will have enough torque. What would your final rpm / ipm speed be? Touchy thing with a rolling mill, too fast and well it can get plain dangerous not to mention the potential for slippage. Too slow and the rollers can start to really suck the heat out of the billet, i.e. in...

    Northern Wisconsin

Scott. That sounds like a great time. I know the area. My folks used to own a dinner club in Fifield years ago. We made it up your way from time to time. Let me know when you are planning it. My wife and I love to take weekend trips for events. One of our favorite is to visit with Ron...
