Can't call myself a knifemaker or can I?

I don't make my own blades, just don't have the time, so I feel like I shouldn't qualify myself as a knifemaker.....What I do is buy the blades and use varies materials for the handles. Mostly, I put antler handles on the blades and decorate them as much as I can. Does that make me a knife maker...

My favorite Neo knife I made.......

I wore this knife on many train robberies and robbing the stage in Jackson Hole, Wy. I put a high price on it so it won't sell. It has a small elk antler handle and for some reason it just works.......comp wise!

    Filing on blades question?

I like to file on blades, mainly Damascus due to it being softer than stainless most of the time. What are the best files to buy for this and where can I purchase them? Also, will diamond discs work on Damascus?

    Getting rid of scratches....question?

I use a 1"X 42" sander and a fairly fine sand paper. I then use the sanding blocks to finish off the handles. I know that tiny scratches has an adverse effect on the final finish. the sanding grooves cause the reflection of light to go in slanted directions, which is a no no and reduces the...

    Glad I found this Forum......

I'm a native Texan who is lost over in Alabama. Well, my wife and I reside here now. I became interested in knifemaking back in the 80s while going to Mountainman Rendezvous. My first attempts were rather crude but over the years I have progressed to being fairly decent with my knives. I've made...
