    Hi Sean,yeah I paid $5500.00 CAD for a second hand Chinese model.I did get the rotary attachment and slide table with though.They are slowly coming down in price.But yeah very handy.

    I keep my power mostly at full and adjust the speed.The light frequency is why it works good on steel.

    Hi John,yes for steel the fiber laser works really good.Wood and organic stuff it doesn't work good on.

    I guess I would just need the thickness.I can shape size with my Knifemaking equipment.My laser can give me almost perfect lines to grind to.

    I can cut into steel about a 1/32 if I go over it a few times.Brass doesn't cut much at all.Can feel it with your fingernail but it doesn't cut deeper with more passes.It just turns black.

    Hi Noellaflamme,it does engrave brass and other metals but does not go really deep.I looked online at the plates for the engraver and am on the fence for whether I could engrave deep enough.

    I recently started using S35VN.Before I used 154CM.I had a bit of trouble with sharpening the S35VN.So I put on the magnifying visor I have and noticed after taking off the initial obvious wire edge with the buffing wheel a very small edge remained and it took many more passes than when I used...
