First, it has to "speak" to me asthetically. Then I look at fit and finish. Even,crisp grinds etc. But I also look at who the maker is and what kind of person he is. I won't buy a knife if the maker is a jerk. The person behind the knife is half the value to me. Tom

Talking to John the other day and realized I've never been here. I signed up and see alot of familiar faces. For those who don't know me, I am a retired firefighter whose a certified knife nut. Been around a couple of other forums for years and am honored to be here too. Tom
