What did you decide on for steel?

Analysis paralysis! I will probably go with 80CrV2 or a tool steel like O1 or D2.

Well I know that D2 is a good candidate for edge retention and polishes up really well. Lol
Im trying to get a few knives made from 01 to send to ht and decide what works best all around for my area of the state.

IMHO stay away from D2, better steel available. what are you going to do with the knife? camp knife/all purpose I would use 80CrV2, a blade this small 0.125" is plenty thick, temper to Rc60-61. skinner/slicer i would use 3/32" O1 at Rc 62-63 with a total edge angle less than 20 degrees.

i like the one on the left. the one on the right forces your grip and may be too small for some folks.
