Here is a little Paring Scalpel That a nice lady had me make.
The project was to use the cheap black handled knife as a model and to Rhinoize it in handle and blade to some degree.

The lady showed me me the knife and said that it was going to be a gift for her elderly mother.

Once she said that it made a bit more sense to me! I find arthritic hand need bigger handles.
The lady had laughed and said I might throw her out for bringing this cheep knife into my store!

I used 440C Stainless, Still one of my Favorite Culinary steels. Treated to 59 RC.
The blade is 4" in length.
I used some Spaulted black line Maple I had stabilized @ WSSI.
1/8 Nickel Silver pins.

The Customer was very happy with the results and I was too!

Comments anyone?

Very unique, very cool and no doubt...very functional for it's specialized task. Nicely done!

Thanks for the kind words Guys,
I forgot to add I put in Yellow fiber liners for a Beaver Cleaver Kitchen look!
The steel is 1/8th thick.

Knives like these work great on Fruit, Vegetation and work on meat & fish as well.

I've seen Pro Chef's prepare a entire meal with a similar size & shape knife.
The amount of black line and spaulting in this wood makes a real Classy and interesting handle.
