5.75" Fighter nearing completion

I have been working on this 5.75" Fighter and it is almost complete. All parts are a snug fit. The knife feels comfortable in my hand.

Black walnut cut in the late 40's. Not fancy, but hard, nice color and grain.

That's a really nice looking knife USN, are you going to stain or tru oil the walnut ?

Thanks for commenting Steve. This walnut does not need stain. The color comes out medium brown, dark brown-red and black mineral streaks. I use lin-speed after sanding to 600x. I let it cure for a week then oil sand with 600-800x then use rottenstone to buff the wood barehanded. After a wipe down with a soft cotton cloth, one or two drops of lin-speed well rubbed in completes the finish.
