Tried something different this time. Home stabilized (Stick Fast) Yellow Birch, plus unstabilized African Blackwood bolster and a slice of 20 thou aluminum to dissect the two. I used an oval template to lay out the pieces and hand shaped them to fit. The knife is 1/8" 154CM and keeps a kind of simple shape, but the curves are appealing and the overall package was a hit with my customer.
The trick of this project was to keep the aluminum strips perfectly in line while fixing the scales.
