Well I finally finished my shop and I thought I would share my solution for mounting my disc grinder. Vertical and horizonal, its cheap and works great. Just some plywood and cut a 30 degree bevel and a handful of screws. Thought I would share, thanks

Nice job, I will be posting pictures of mine soon. I just screwed a piece of plywood to the back of the base at 90 degrees and with a brace. Now I can just flip it for either vertical or horizontal.

Thanks for the comments guys, I like cheap solutions (knifemaking is spensive) I originally used the idea for my reloading bench, so i could switch out my single stage press for my progressive. It is surprisingly sturdy setup. I spent two hours last night using the disc grinder both ways and I dont know how i have gotten along without one, it gets stuff flat, fast. And for anybody thinking about getting a VFD disc setup, variable speed is the way to go.

Great Idea . I have been debating getting a disc grinder. I mostly flat grind all my knives so it seems like it would be a big help. I am thinking it might be my next tool . steve
