A type of wood I dont know please assist

Hi all I was called out to fell a pretty big tree on Monday and collected a few pieces of it it is not a local type of tree is very tough but also very light if I compare it to local african hardwoods.The inside is a bright red pinkish color and the sapwood yellowish.After a day of having been cut it turns grey even on the bone dry wood the centre however stay red.Leaves is a deep green almost blue on the live branches and the dead limbs all have little burl like structures growing from them almost like those found on almond trees.Could someone identify the tree please?

I'm not sure what type of tree that is but if you take the leaves to a nursery, they are usually pretty good at identifying it. That or post the photos you have here on an arborist forum.

If all else fails....cut some off and work some of it like if you were putting it on a handle to see how it looks. You can also try stabilizing it to see how that turns out too.

I got some silver maple back in July and have never used it before. These were the steps I was planning on using to see if will turn out nice.
