Acid on D-2

Not sure that I am posting this in the right place but I was wondering I use alot of D-2 and I want to use acid to get a dark gray finish but not sure what acid to use or how to go about it thanks for any info

Shop Talk would be the better forum. Get yourself some Ferric Chloride (aka pcb etchant) from Radio Shack.
Mix one part FC with 2 to 4 parts water. Submerse your very clean blade and watch it oxidize. Presto.
