Hello everyone I was wondering if there is a tutorial anywhere for dyeing or coloring aluminum fastners like screwposts. Without anodizing, I was thinking about using some sort of spray on coating then baking, but not sure if that's the easiest way. Any help appreciated. Many thanks in advance. Raven 816

There is a spray paint that mimicks anodizing for aluminum and looks very good. It's available at most auto supply stores. The down side is that it's still paint and has very low resistance.

If you are looking for something to blacken them, I've had pretty good luck with the Birchwood Casey aluminum black. They sell it in the 3 oz. little blue bottles just like their cold bluing. I apply the aluminum black with a saturated cotton swab.
