Another Newbie, in Need of advice.

Hello from the Frozen North. Rob here, I am new to knife making built me first one with some Diamond Willow I had left over from building my First Grandchild's Crib here just recently.

Now........ Well....... Dang it, I'm hooked. I've been watching everything I can on the subject. Even starting looking for a chunk of railroad track for an Anvil. I found this place after watching a Youtube video on making knife handles.




Here it is. The shield isn't set in just yet which is kinda why I'm here. Should I just burn it in, try and score out the wood or just use glue and a press?

Welcome to the addiction of knife making! Looking good, I'm no help either on the shield but there are some slip joint guys on here that do them all the time so hopefully one will chime in.

If you really want to be blown away . . . go to the WIP/tutorial page/how to's and browse away for an hour or two. There is some amazing stuff in there.
