Another NUB

Another NUB (new useless body) here. Used to be a CNC operator (programmed, setup, and ran two mills), worked avionics in the AF, and am now a tech writer. Loved working with metal but couldn't stand pushing the button on a new program, wondering if I had a number wrong or a decimal in the wrong place or an axis zero entered wrong. :34: Am in the process of making space in the garage for a grinder and other tools to start dabbling in knife making. Would love to try my hand at the blacksmithing side of the hobby but simply don't have the time, space, or money for that.

Been busy reading anything and everything I can get my hands on until I can get things set up and start making chips. Actually I guess that would be sparks since I'll be using a grinder rather than a mill.

I'm near Troy, OH so if anyone is in the area, give me a shout.

Welcome to the "hobby" that becomes an addiction as Anthony said
Lol ots aggrevation and elation all rolled into one lol

Welcome aboard. This is a great place to find information on just about all aspects of knife making. I'm in Cincy, but work in Dayton. Feel free to send me a message - always fun to get to know other makers nearby.
