Ive seen many many Hammer In's all over the US advertised in the forums but nothing that is close enough for me to get to. Ive never done a forge blade and would like to try it some time. Anyone know of any in the North Texas area ?

thanks

Dave

I don't know of any in N. Texas, but there is typically one at the A.B.S., Bill Moran School of Knives in October each year. The school house is located in Old Washington, Ar which isn't too awfully far away from you (197 miles or about 3 hrs).

EDIT: I just looked up the dates, it will be held September 17-18.

Check out the NTxBA. Though not 100% knife makers, a few of the guys have been bitten by the bug. If you ever visit Trade Days at Canton, you can meet String Bean (one of the smiths) as he does his monthly demo and sales. Here is the website if you're interested, I've been meaning to attend a hammer in but something always comes up. Maybe once this nasty Texas weather lets up, I'll give it another try. These are typically held in Princeton, TX, which I believe is only about 20 miles from you. Best of luck.
