Archangel

this is my Archangel design. it is from forged 1084 with mild steel scales. my son and me were talking about the new Riddick movie coming this year. he is all jazzed up about it. that was my inspiration for this piece. it is 10" long with a sabre grind and our frosted Crime Scene finish. i even beat the devil out of the steel scales to look the part. they are deeply etched in ferric chloride. sometimes, you gotta just have a little fun in the shop.

Whoa! those steel scales are really nice on there- This thing looks great. You have such great designs! definitely one of my favorite makers right now

thanks. i am thinking of making a tamer version as the blade shape is actually practical.

Very intresting, just have to ask though, does the notch on the back serve a purpose or is it just part of the design?

Thanks and God Bless
Mike

it is just aesthetic. the curve from the handle and the spine curve of the blade are two slightly different arcs. this was an easy way of separating them.
