Attach Contact Wheel

<——- Just click my name over there and then “start conversation”. That will create a PM so you can send me your address. I’ll get the bushings out to you tomorrow.

Hey Johnny,

I shipped the bushings on Tuesday since Monday was a holiday and USPS was not open. With the hurricane there may be delay but you ought to get them tomorrow.

Hey John,
The bushings came right on schedule. One is a tad loose in it's fitting in the wheel, and the other is a tad tight exactly as you had designed. You talked about shaving the one down to fit, but what about wrapping a few layers of plumber's teflon around the smaller one first just to see how it would work before I attempt to shave off a bit on the oversized one? I'm in the middle of a landscaping project right now, but will send you some pics of the initial fitting as soon as I can. By the way, was the hurricane anywhere near where you live? From what I hear on the news, it sounds like a major hurricane and catastrophe for many people. Thanks again, can't thank you enough.

I thought the same thing. It may be a lot easier to shim the loose one. A few pieces of aluminum foil might do all you need. If you try it and there's too much wobble or runout, then you can try to sand down the bigger one.

As far as the hurricane, I'm way down in Tampa so the storm went by us while it was still out to sea in the Gulf. We got real lucky on this one.

You're more than welcome on the bushings. I am excited to see how it works out.

Excellent idea on the foil. I’m attaching some photos of the bushing and wheel with and without 1/2” bolt. You can see the bushing extends through the wheel just a bit, but I can sand that down flush to wheel no problem. I still need to attach to tooling arm and align with drive wheel, but from the looks of things, I think it’s going to work!! We have company visiting from out of town (darn), but I’ll send you some pics of it assembled in the next day or two.

Did an initial install on the tooling arm with spacers to align with drive wheel. I need to bring the wheel over 1/4” to align properly so will add some washers to bring it over. Still need to add shim to the bushing and trim the end down, but a very successful dry run!
