Big oosik bowie for ICCE

I've been working a bit on a big bowie that will be ready for ICCE in Fort worth. The steel is some W2 that I got from my fellow Forged in Fire competitor Rob Singleton, clay quenched for a good hamon. The oosik was my door prize at the last ICCE in Kansas City, and I've been waiting on a big bowie to use it on. This is also my first penny style guard.

Dirty pic, pre final polish.

A video view "in the white."

Handle mock up with the fittings blued.

Glued the final assembly up late last night. Should have some finished pics and likely a video over the next few days.

I really like that guard 'n spacer you've got. BTW, what's the story on the blade just in front (pointy end) of the ricasso?

Honest truth, lol? Let's call it a "Spanish notch." Truth is, when I got to hand sanding, there was a small edge crack there. I used a 1/8 carbide end mill to chase the crack out and add the decorative element.
