BK 1460 Stainless ???

Question , I had a fella who lives near me give me some barstock about 5 ' long x 1.5 w x 1/4" Stamped in the steel is " BK 1460 stainless ? never heard of it ? could not find anything online ?? has anyone some info on this ? I sparked tested it , seemed to have a good spark spread has fair amount carbon . I am just cutious does anyone know anything about it . I will appreciate.... Bubba

No idea..the stamp may not have anything to do with the steel type. I would probably see how it polished up, and if it did well, then I'd have a lifetime supply of bolsters and buttcap material. Otherwise you're just gonna have to go for it and try to harden some then see if it will hold an edge.
