Black Cat Bone

First one for 2013:

Here’s the first of a pair I’m working on from a mountain lion femur bone. Both will be freestanding like this one. The last pic shows the other end of the cougar femur I plan to use for the second knife.

This one is about 14-½ inches OAL, with sterling silver fittings and a 1095 blade.

Very nice. I love the detail work and looks of that bone.

Do you treat the bone with anything?

Yes, I "ebonized" the bone in two parts with a tannic solution and vinegaroon…
