Can black oxcide be used on high carbon stainless steel. And how does it wear. Thanks

Sorry Laurence black oxcide is a coating for tools, guns exc.

You know I read the link but still unfamiliar with the process. I hot blue,manganese and zinc parkerize and cant tell with the description if this is one of those processes or not.

From what I've read in the past, some guys actually prefer black oxide drill bits as they claim the coating holds lubrication/cutting fluid better.

I've not tested this myself however.
