My first grind with a 6" wheel and having a hard time so thought I should make it easier by referencing this widget

very nice, I wonder what the actual formula is for calculating grind height

would be nice if this app could compute for wheels larger than 14". Bruce Bump has a 24" wheel and I wonder how the numbers would look. I have a 36" equivalent hard platen and am wondering as well. Thanks

What do they mean by edge scribe?

I would assume that you would scribe a centerline from both sides slightly off center. This difference between these lines and the center line is negligible so you could just put half the thickness of the blade.
