Boarding axe underway...see what I did there?

It’s 4140 OP. I am not a fan of “spike axes” but this one I left very square because that was the historical example I followed. I really like the square cross section spike.
 
I was following the blade from the French axe but I used the American spike.
If anyone cares to learn about Boarding Axes google “Boarding axes by nation” its a great site.

I an going to have to rig something up on my Fly press to drive my handle drift through because I had a heck of a time doing it by hand hammer.
 
Chris - you did it again with the “Boarding axes by nation” comment. That's one of those sites I can "waste" several hours reading thru :)
