Burners

Has anyone heard from the folks over at Zoeller Forge? I've been trying to get in touch with them for two months now with no luck.

In case they are no longer serving the public, can anyone recommend another provider of gas burners that are comparable in both price and quality to ZF?

Last I heard, Larry was still down due to surgery. But that was last spring. Hope all is well with him.
Most likely he is still swamped with backorders.

As to a different supplier comparable in price, I can't say.
But for absolute quality and precision in an atmospheric burner, it's pretty hard to beat something from Rex Price.
His burners are machined with a very high degree of precision. Even when using his 1" burner in a casting furnace, my fuel costs are lower than anything else I've used.
Service is great, too. He has never failed to answer any of my e-mails.

Don't expect his prices to be "competitive"; rather, expect to get your money's worth and then some.
If his burners are preferred by NASA, then there must be a reason.

OK, I'll stop with the sales pitch since I'm obviously biased.

Good Luck,

Go to High Temperature Tools and Refractory, I believe that they carry venturi and blown burners assembled and in kit form. Blacksmiths Depot has even started carrying a venturi burner but it's a little on the pricy side and they don't seem to carry the stuff that goes between the tank and the burner.

I sent an email to Zeoller Forge well over a month ago and have yet to hear from them either.

Sounds like it's time to hire a secretary. ;)

High Temperature Tools and Refractory website doesnt even load properly.

I agree. I use both Explorer and FireFox and that site has never worked for me. It looks like a site that has been abandoned. Generally speaking, if a website isn't kept working properly, it reflects back on the owners (just like if it was a dirty/broken store front - which it actually is a store front on the Internet). I keep hearing/reading good things bout High Temp, but you couldn't tell it by their website!

I have had no trouble with going to High Temperature Tools and Refractory using explorer I'm really at a loss when others say they have had problems. Are you still trying to go through Ellis Custom Knife Works?

Doug

I went to hightemptools.com and all the buttons will not show up for the different items in the high temp tools and refractories section.
I use Firefox and I also agree appears to be a website not updated. I would personally not order from a sight that will not load properly.

Guys,

I understand your frustration.
I'm probably one of the most computer-illiterate individuals on this forum, and I have to rely on the computer goddess (girlfriend) or sometimes even my daughter to help me out.

Started with Explorer and used it for the longest time, then had problems and switched to Firefox.
Great for a while, then started having all sorts of problems with Firefox! So the lady put me back on Explorer.

Having said that, I'm currently using Explorer and the site at High Temp Tools loads fine for me.

If for whatever reason the website is not loading properly, another way to contact Wayne Suhrbier for inquiries is via email.

I'm with Rob. I just went through High Temperature Tools and Refractory selecting several of the bars and everything is loading just fine, and my computer is acting up. I will have to say this if anyone is having problems loading this site or any part of it, it's with your computer or search engine and not Wayne's site. You really need to watch making broad disparaging remarks about someone's business unless you're absolutely certain what you are saying is correct.

For you guys who are hesitant, let me tell you, Wayne is a good guy and pretty quick to answer emails. He is very patient (specially considering my number of questions), helpful, respectful and his items are priced fairly. Hopefully this helps anyone who is on the fence.

Even though Wayne and I sell a lot of the same products, he sells many products that I do not sell so I often refur folks to him, particularly burners, regulators and hoses.

So, after a few headaches and many many questions, forge number two is almost done! In three days, I should have my package from Wayne and it will set me on my way to playing with some fire. Regardless of this one turns out, in the next month I plan on making a cylindrical type forge.
