Just a thought I wanted to share after having my shop cleaned out while I was away on a job.

Im trying to make a detailed list of what was stolen and it is not an easy task.Im making this list for the Police, as there isnt any insurance on the shop.

I would highly suggest you keep you reciepts AWAY from your shop, (mine were in the top of the tool box on my bench which was also stolen) The Police also advise that I make a detailed list as well as a video if possible to help identify any thing in the shop if recovered. This would also be a huge help if you ever had a fire and needed to file an insurance claim.

Just hope this advise can be helpful to someone int he future! It is amazing how hard it is to try and remember the "stuff" that you have collected over 25+ years!

God Bless
Mike

Mike I'm very sorry to hear of your misfortune. I've had nightmares aboutbeing in your position, And I've only been doing this for about a year.

Mike Sorry to hear of your loss.

To answer your question, YES I can as everything is easily identified in the pictures of my shop and I update the pics every so often. Something I learned a long time ago when I had a similar incident. I was making a living as a finish carpenter and had my garage cleaned out which was all my tools. My insurance company burned me and I got zip and could not replace the tools. I ended up changing trades.

Keep receipts and pictures of everything.
